Inverell Disability Services Inc.
Inverell Disability Services is a community-based service provider committed to supporting families who have a member with a disability.
The organization was established in 1979 by a group of interested parents who saw the need for mutual support and the necessity of having regular breaks from the responsibility of caring for a family member with a disability. The organization has grown from its small beginnings to now providing quality support services that include the following:
- Flexible respite programs including host family and youth host family
- After school and vacation programs
- Adult leisure programs
- Parent support groups
- Siblings support programs
- Advice, information and referral
- Brokered respite, leisure and community access
- Early childhood intervention
- Supporting children with additional needs in preschools - New England region
Statement Of Purpose
The purpose of Inverell Disability Services Inc. is to provide support services to people with disabilities and/or additional needs.
Objectives
- To provide support for families with disabilities and/or children with additional needs
- To maintain IDS as a non profit organisation to provide support to people with disabilities and/or children with additional needs and families living in rural areas
- To provide information, support and empower people with disabilities and/or children with additional needs and their families
